PlayAd Media Group (PMG) is a technology driven digital media company offering advertisers, publishers and content providers a complete solution for online video.
The company empowers a syndicated online TV platform (YouPlay) with more than 20M streams per month, and distributes engaging video in-banner experiences in a brand safe environment across the Nordic region.
The company was recently internationally awarded in The European Business Awards as a National Champion and received a gold medal in the category Entrepreneur of the year. The company is also the only media company in Sweden that, for three consecutive years, has received the prestigious DI Gasellen and The Deloittes Fast 50 Award, which ranks the fastest growing technology companies in Sweden.

What make us special is that we provide a non stop shop for advertising online, with all needed disciplines in-house. PMG has proprietary technology, its own sales department, its own creative studio to make digital production, its own video distribution channels and partnerships with content providers. We believe that the future of all forms of advertising success is to create involvement among the target audience. Therefore, we want the user to actively choose to engage, spend time and interact with campaigns in our ad formats. This endeavor is also reflected in PlayAd’s payment models, CPV (Cost Per View) and CPCV (Cost Per Completed View). We want to make sure to maximize the advertisers ROI.
2004-2011 – Early days
The Company was founded by Tom Sundvik, Patrik Andrén and Fredrik Grahn as Creative Section, creating the first digital portal for the Swedish media industry.
In 2007 Creative Section launched it’s first video player, exclusively showing TV ads for entertainment purposes.
Investment made by BBE Private Equity. Name changed to PlayAd Media Group.
First in-banner video campaign is launched for advertiser Microsoft X-box.

2012-2016 – A force in Web-TV
Web-TV offering signed together with Pocket Entertainment, pre launched I June and officially launched in September.
Ability Mobile an ad10 acquired.
Oslo office is opened.
Web-TV format TT-play, is launched together with TT (Tidningarnas Telegrambyrå).
TT-play is rebranded YouPlay.
First programmatic transaction.
Copenhagen and Helsinki offices are opened.
New product line (PMG 3.0) is launched and new group structure in place.
2017-present – The Nordic Leader
Acquisition of content network Flow Network.
The launch of YouPlay Live Premium-platform, first Saas license fees financed tech feature.
The outstanding 50% in World Sports Broadcasting acquired in order to re-launch Nya Sporten (YouPlay Sport).
Founding member of European sales network Video Ad Alliance.
New All Time High with almost 60 million started streams per month in YouPlay, setting the new reach 1 billion started streams in 2019.
Major milestones by signing publisher agreements with Bonnier News, Schibsted and Gota Media.
New All Time High with over 1 million started streams per day for a single publisher (Corren)
