We are compliant with GDPR

PlayAd Media Group, founded in 2004, is committed to privacy and transparency and ensuring all of our products, technical platforms, and technology providers are compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The purpose of this page is to clearly explain our approach, what data is involved, how it is handled, and how that may affect you.

PlayAd Media Group have a privacy by design approach to our products, we respect the right to privacy online as a company but also as individuals. We do not profile visitors on our platforms, we do not use behavioural targeting, we do not track the pages you visit, and we do not attempt to identify visitors personally.

We do issue randomised cookie identifiers or a connection identifier, this is strictly to allow us to limit the rate at which an advert can be viewed, to not show the same advert again if dismissed, and to provide unique visitor statistics for our content.

This identifier can not be used to identify a person retroactively, it is not associated with any other data, even your IP address. This is the only piece of individual information we use, and if that is too much for you, we will shortly have the option to opt out of even that.

We never share data with third parties.

Data that we process & handle

In the spirit of full transparency, we want to list all of the information points that we act on or collect, even though these are not sensitive, we believe it’s important that you know exactly what is going on when using our products.

We log the video that is being viewed which can be an advert or a web TV video so that we can monitor video performance. We log the browser and operating system you are using for viewing statistics and to know which technologies we need to develop against. We process the city that you’re viewing from so that we can do geographical restrictions on our content.

We also log the actions that occur when viewing content, such as how much of the video was viewed, if it was paused or muted, or if the content was engaged with via a click or hover.

This information is never available within our systems on an individual level, users can only see overall statistics across all visitors, and even internally this data is aggregated to the point that individual data is no longer available after 2 weeks.

We will shortly have the ability below to see what data is available against your connection, it isn’t much, but again, in the spirit of transparency.

 

Third Party Services

PlayAd Media Group partner with several programmatic and analytic services. Programmatic services are used to help fill advert requests that we’re unable to fill directly, and analytic services are used to help track performance independently of our platform. We only work with services that are also compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The connection to these services are established within the video player in your browser and we do not pass any information to them from our platform, however they are able to infer information from your connection to their services. Whilst we have done due diligence with these third party providers, and will continue to follow up and react on changes in their status in regards to GDPR, the providers themselves are responsible for ensuring continued compliance.
